- Consolidated work crews and reduced other citywide contracted services, which resulted in a savings of $1.7M between fiscal year 2008 and fiscal year 2009.
- Implemented in-house landscape maintenance service crews, producing an annual net savings of approximately $1M for citywide contracted landscape services.
- Completion of Streetlight identification Tag Project with Audit and Accountability resulting in improved customer service as well as FPL credit of $52,400 to the City’s billing account.
- Installed by in-house electricians, new motors and variable frequency drive at the East Water Treatment Plant resulting in savings of about $35,000.
- Completed by in-house Faculty Maintenance staff, pressure cleaning of Sunset Lakes, Civic Center and Silver Shores for an approximate savings of $15,000.
- Completed by in-house Facility Maintenance staff, exterior painting of Civic Center, Forzano Park and Fire Station 100 bay doors, for an approximate savings of $13,500.
- Installed programmable thermostats at 12 City Facilities reducing energy consumption by 5%.
Enabled capability to receive manual credit card payments. - Completed in-house installation of eight (8) drainage structures and 480 linear feet of pipe along SW 34 Street improving drainage infrastructure in the environs of Annabel C. Perry Elementary and Henry D. Perry Middle Schools.
2007
- Extended customer service center hours to six (6) days a week with no increase in staffing and employee hours.
- Improved customer service response by 11%.
- Maintained an additional 50,000 sq ft building space (17% increase) with no additional staff and employee-hours.
- Designed and built in-house extensive wooden storage cabinet for Finance Department resulting savings of about $25,000.
- Implement energy management application which reduced energy consumption by 33% at this 86.000 sq ft facility.
- Obtained a Broward Beautiful Grant for the purchase and installation of 300 replacement trees along Miramar Parkway and for professional services to perform a city-wide inventory to aid the city in producing more cost effective landscape tree management.
- Performed a Pavement Management Study to enable the city to better prioritize, manage and fund its roadways resurfacing and rejuvenation programs.
