Classes

The City of Miramar is proud to offer a wide variety of services and programs to enrich your experience in our great city. Community Centers are situated throughout the entire city to ensure convenience and accessibility for all. With something for everyone we are sure that you will find a class to enrich your life, strengthen your body or just have a good time.

The Recreation Division offers Annual Rec Passes for everyone to enjoy all amenities at any of our three recreational facilities; Miramar Youth Enrichment Center, Fairway Park and Sunset Lakes Community Center. The annaul pass costs $25 for residents per year and $30 for non-residents per year. Please feel free to click on any of the faciltiies to see the list of amenities.

After School and Camps
Miramar Presents “I KNOW SCIENCE”

I KNOW SCIENCE (IKS) joins in the national effort to increase science interest, knowledge, and standardized test scores.  The purpose of this after school program is to provide a fun and progressive way of learning science.  I KNOW SCIENCE uses engaging and interactive lab experiments that your children will enjoy while learning key science concepts.   Completed experiments are sent home weekly and upon completing the session, all scientists are awarded a certificate for their scientific merit!

Ages: Kindergarten through 5th grade

The I KNOW SCIENCE session lasts 6 weeks and meets weekly for 45 minutes.  All classes will be held at the Sunset Lakes Community Center.  Cost for Miramar residents is $155 (non-Miramar residents add 20%).  All materials are included in the price.

Jason Taylor Reading Room

This after school program is for middle and high school students.
The program is at the Miramar Youth Enrichment Center and is FREE for the participants.
Spaces are limited, so please register early.
The program hours are from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offers reading enrichment and homework assistance along with physical fitness and social skills.

G.C.E. Model Development Fashion Aftershool Program

The City of Miramar and G.C.E. Model Development are offering an afterschool program that will introduce children ages 8-18 year of age to the magical world of fashion.  They will learn the art of fashion etiquette, communication, effective speaking and voice projection, personal imaging & development as well as self-confidence.  All the self-improvement/life skills needed for a successful life.

The program will meet:
            Mondays 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.                  Thursdays 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
            Fridays 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.                     Saturdays  11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

There are only 25 spots available per week!  Cost is $50 per week or $175 per 4 weeks (when purchased in full at time of registration).  Non-refundable registration is $25.00.
